Rock The Red Kettle

The 2019 red kettle season will officially kickoff on Friday, Nov. 22 at the Mall of America with a performance by William Close and the Earth Harp.

There will be five total performances in the MOA Rotunda, all free to the public. The main performance will be on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m., followed by half-hour performances on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m.

William Close is an installation artist, musician and visionary who has developed over 100 new musical instruments, including the famed Earth Harp. The Earth Harp is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest playable stringed musical instrument. At the Mall of America, the Earth Harp strings will travel over the audience and attach to the second floor of the Rotunda, turning the Rotunda space into an instrument. The Earth Harp earned Close a finalist slot on the TV show America’s Got Talent.
