Last Call at Brine's Bar & Restaurant in Stillwater Last Night!

Last Call at an iconic downtown Stillwater establishment!

Last night it was an end of an era in my hometown, Stillwater!   Brine's Bar & Restaurant shut its doors for the final time last night.

I worked at Brines from 1978-1980.  Upstairs in the restaurant, before the fire.

The bar is part of the family-owned Brine's company that started as a meat market on Stillwater Main Street, across the street, in 1958.  In 1974, Bud moved Brine's across the street for a bigger meat market and eventually a restaurant and bar.

The meat market got it's own location up on the hill in 1991.  The bar and restaurant stayed on Main Street until last night.

It was a Farewell to Brine's with 25-cent beers to clear the taps.

Oh and don't worry.  The Brine's Meat Market is thriving and will continue to serve the best to the St. Croix Valley.

By the way, the building in downtown Stillwater is available!
